Movie Magic Madness

We're all excited and exhausted about the progress we're making on the production of Flood, a film directed by Dark Dark Dark bass player, Todd Chandler, and starring all the members of Dark Dark Dark and Fall Harbor. You can read more about the project and take a look at some stills from the first round of shooting at http://www.floodmovie.com

Summer's Swimming

Well, there's an exciting summer stretching out ahead of us, and aside from spending most of our time searching for good places to go swimming, here's what we're obsessing about in Blood Onion Land.

Dark Dark Dark has temporarily relocated to Brooklyn, where all four members are participating in Swimming Cities of Switchback Sea, a project headed by NYC street artist, Swoon. Besides helping to build Swoon's flotilla of fantastical dream boats, Dark Dark Dark will be performing music during the winding Hudson River expedition, which sets sail in mid August.

Meanwhile, the members of Dark Dark Dark and Fall Harbor will all appear in a film called Flood, conceived and directed by Todd Chandler. Shooting begins in late June, and will continue throughout the Switchback Sea project.

Check back for more updates about these projects as the summer progresses.

We've been busy...

Everyone in the Blood Onion family has been making things and doing stuff non-stop for the last year, so here's a quick summary of some highlights, now that our News page is up and running.

+November 2007 - Dark Dark Dark records the Love You, Bye EP for French label, What A Mess Records (Blood Onion chips in to have some copies to distribute in the USA)

+January 2008 - Dark Dark Dark goes into the studio to record a debut full-length - The Snow Magic. Drummer extraordinaire, Martin Dosh contributes some amazing percussion to the album -- in return, Marshall and Nona contribute some vocal and banjo sounds to Dosh's latest disc, Wolves and Wishes (Anticon.)

+March 2008 - Dark Dark Dark unveils The Snow Magic at a release party / going away show in Minneapolis, then sets off to tour their way to the East Coast.

+April 2008 - Fall Harbor releases their debut CD, Songs from Fall Harbor. Members of Dark Dark Dark and Fall Harbor gather in North Adams, Massachusetts to work with the Miss Rockaway Armada collective on a collaborative installation at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. Photos of the installation, Being Here is Better than Wishing We'd Stayed (yup, lines from Dark Dark Dark songs show up in the darnedest places) can be viewed at http://everydayilive.com/mrainstallation/
